Apacer Technology today announced that it will work with Sony Corporation to provide multiplatform storage solutions that using memory stick media.

Taipei, Taiwan March 12, 2002 - With demand for digital imaging and audio on the rise in multimedia and home electronics, Apacer Technology announced today that it will work with Sony Corporation to provide multi-platform storage solutions using the Memory Stick media standard for desktops, notebooks, PDAs, internet appliances (IAs) and other systems.

Making Apacer its first choice in Asia, Sony is expecting to leverage Apacer's strengths and experience in the IT hardware channel. Apacer vice president Lawrence Lo said, ""Apacer's expertise in memory applications for PCs and IAs was what attracted Sony. Apacer will market Memory Stick media under its own Apacer brand name.""

As the Memory Stick format gradually becomes the industry standard, global systems companies such as Acer, Hewlett-Packard, Compaq Computer, IBM, Sony, Asustek Computer and Quanta Computer have all begun to include Memory Stick slots in their systems. Apacer's goal is to supply  Memory Stick media to satisfy the demand created by the proliferation of systems compatible with the standard. In addition, to satisfy the needs of different systems, Apacer has also made available card readers and connectors to link together PCs and other electronics applications, such as PDAs and IAs.

The Apacer Memory Stick has a wide range of applications and is fully-compatible with all products that include a built-in Memory Stick slot, including PC systems, PDAs, IAs (such as webpads, tablet PCs, set-top boxes, thin-clients and smart phones), card readers, digital cameras and camcorders, and other electronics devices.
